Woke up at abt really late in the afternoon. Was suppose to meet Kev at Bugis to do some shopping and dinner but I was too too tired.... so cancelled the meeting. Instead, went for a movie with JL, Junie, Na and her colleagues at Suntec City. And of cos we are watching Initial D!!! The movie I have been waiting since at least 6 mths ago!!
The movie was slated at 9.30pm and the all of us except Junie ate a hurried dinner at Sakae Sushi before we rushed to the theatre. Weren't really late but we were the last ones to get seated tho..... had to squeue thru to get our seats..... Junie wasn't there yet, she was still stuck in a cab wandering around near the Marina area cos roads to suntec were closed off due to the NDP rehearsal. She actually took a cab from orchard to go back to her house in Aljunied, after which the cab waited for her at her block to bring her to Suntec.... The cab driver realized suntec was closed off and stupidly drove her back to her house and after some directions by Frank, the driver somehow managed to land Junie in Marina South instead and so it was like this for another 30 mins before Junie finally got here. She was stuck in the cab for at least more than an hour, she refused to tell us her cab fare tho but I bet its at least $40! My heart ached for her!
By the time she reached, she had missed abt 20mins of the show. I had to squeue my way out to fetch her and both of us had to squeue our way in again to our seats. And you know what?? After she sat down, Junie actually leaned over to me and whispered, "I think I need to go to the loo...." Nyahahahaaa. But of cos in the end, I think she changed her mind and decided to control her bladder.... I seriously think the other movie goers will kick us down the steps if we ever do stand up again.
Ok, now for the movie.... The movie on a standalone is very enjoyable. Cool, exciting, funny and lotsa eye-candies. Gosh.... Edison Chen was absolutely drop-dead gorgeous and Jay Chou was cool as usual even tho its in a nerdy manner.
BUT the plot and characters were completely OFF. Edison is too punkish and laid-back to be Ryosuke.... Ryosuke is suppose to be the son of a hopsital's director and is a doctor himself who is super loaded, serious, cool, well-dressed, well-mannered and admired as the King of Street racers. I was totally against the casting even when I first learned of it..... I thought Edison was more suited to be Keisuke but then Keisuke was not even featured in the movie! Another boo-hoo. And Shawn is wayyyy too friendly and smiley. I could rattle off non-stop a whole list of stuff I found disturbing..... but to be fair, the movie still did live up to my expectations. ^^
Went over to a friend's KTV pub in Boat Quay after the movie to chill for a while. But JL seemed uncomfy with Na's colleagues so I suggested we leave early. Left at about 2am. Na's new crush seems to be hitting off really quite well with her. ^^ can't wait for her updates later.
Pigged out at my house's prata shop before I headed home.... super tired now... ggg zzzzz... ja, till next time.
